PROCASUR and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) are pleased to announce the 2nd Edition of the Learning Route on Innovative mechanisms and tools to promote inclusive agricultural value chains : experiences from Senegal. It is developed under the Large Regional IFAD-Procasur Grant Programme “Strengthening capacities and tools for scaling-up and disseminating innovations (2016 - 2018)”.
The initiative will take place in Senegal from November 26 to December 5th 2017.
The value chain approach consists of taking a comprehensive view of the entire product chain, taking into account all stakeholders from producer to end-market consumer. Indeed, before this approach was adopted, most former projects made agricultural production support the center of their strategies; now, a new generation of projects looks beyond this aspect.
The Learning Route will therefore evolve around two projects of national scope, recognized in Senegal and the WCA region as having achieved remarkable results when it comes to market access for small-scale producers (including rural youths and women).
During the Route, the participants will be able to learn about the emblematic successful experiences with this value chain approach linked to projects, and the knowledge of local champions and other key stakeholders (including the private sector) in different regions of the country.
