10th to 17th of March 2013
The PROCASUR-KariaNet II Learning Route Programme brings together two knowledge brokers, in an attempt to increase knowledge sharing and the scaling up of best practices in rural development in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Building on identified knowledge gaps and interests of development practitioners and decision-makers in the region.
The learning demand among the KariaNet II and IFAD stakeholders in the MENA region was defined during a Learning Route Planning Workshop, which was organized and facilitated by PROCASUR in Beirut, Lebanon, on 13-14 July, 2012. A list of possible host cases was suggested by the Beirut workshop participants, and was subsequently circulated broadly for more inputs and technical validation, both among KariaNet II experts, IFAD Technical Division advisors and IFAD staff in the MENA region. Inputs for the relevance of knowledge found in each case were received from a dozen of people. In addition, the host countries and cases were assessed taking into account any possible logistical issues or security threats that could complicate the preparation and implementation of the Learning Routes.
Under this framework, the PROCASUR Corporation will implemented the "Learning Route on Sustainable Water Management", which took place in between the 10th and 17th of March 2013, in Egypt
